Definisjon:
Lokale frostskader klassifiseres etter alvorlighetsgrad: 1. og 2. grad er overflatiske skader og 3. og 4. grad er dype frostskader (ikke bare lokalisert til huden).
Forekomst:
Ikke uvanlig forekomst i arktiske og subarktiske strøk.
Symptomer:
Forfrysning av deler av kroppen.
Funn:
Avhenger av grad av forfrysning.
Diagnostikk:
Ingen tilleggsundersøkelser er av spesiell diagnostisk verdi.
Behandling:
Hurtig og riktig oppvarming av det nedfrosne området.
