Langdistansekne, iliotibialt båndsyndrom

Definisjon:
Inflammasjon av bursa under tractus iliotibialis ved den laterale femurkondylen som følge av overbelastning
Forekomst:
Vanligst hos langdistanse- og maratonløpere, men er heller ikke uvanlig blant syklister
Symptomer:
Diffuse laterale knesmerter i starten som etter hvert blir skarpere og lokalisert til laterale femurkondyl eller laterale tibiatuberkel
Funn:
Klinisk funn er lokalisert ømhet over den laterale femurkondylen, særlig ved isometrisk ekstensjon ved 30 graders fleksjon
Diagnostikk:
Tilleggsundersøkelser er vanligvis ikke påkrevd, ev. MR
Behandling:
Behandlingen er vanligvis konservativ med modifisering av aktivitet, NSAID, massasje, tøyninger og strekking av den affiserte ekstremiteten
