Definisjon:
Smerter svarende til vekstsonen på bakre/nedre del av hælen i området hvor akillesenen fester seg. Skyldes høy fysisk aktivitet med belastning mot hælen, eks. løping og hopping
Forekomst:
Vanligst blant idrettsaktive barn i alderen 8-15 år
Symptomer:
Smerter lokalisert til bakre/nedre del av hælen
Funn:
Ømhet ved dypt trykk mot akillesfestet, og ømhet når hælen distalt klemmes sammen fra side til side
Diagnostikk:
Økende smerter ved belastning mot hælen, bedring i hvile. Positiv "sqeeze"-test
Behandling:
Avlastning og tilrettelegge aktivitet for ikke å framprovosere smerter. Tøyninger av leggmuskulaturen. Ev. bruk av hælortoser i en periode
