Definisjon:
Degenerative forandringer i utspringet for plantarfascien i forkant av kalkaneus. Vanligvis utløst av overbelastning
Forekomst:
Vanligst etter 40 årsalder eller hos yngre idrettsutøvere
Symptomer:
Smerter eller ømhet i eller foran hælen ved belastning mot fotsålen, gangsmerter
Funn:
Ømhet ved palpasjon mot plantarfascien ved utspringet fra kalkaneus
Diagnostikk:
Klinisk diagnose, men bildeundersøkelser kan være aktuelle ved tvil om diagnosen
Behandling:
Behandles individuelt: avlastning, ev. avlastning med ortoser. Fysikalsk behandling med tøyninger. Sjokkbølgebehandling, ev. kortisoninjeksjon er aktuelt
