Definisjon:
Kronisk, mer eller mindre intens smerte i nakken hvor man ikke finner andre årsaker enn spent og smertefull muskulatur
Forekomst:
Nakkesmerter forekommer hos 30-50% av den voksne befolkning i løpet av ett år
Symptomer:
Kroniske nakkesmerter med diffus utstråling til armene
Funn:
Smertebetinget innskrenkning av muskelfunksjon, ev. smertefulle triggerpunkt
Diagnostikk:
Tilleggsundersøkelser er sjelden påkrevd, ev. rtg., ev. MR
Behandling:
Avdekke disponerende faktorer og gi pasienten innsikt og forståelige forklaringer, fysisk trening, ev. psykomotorisk behandling
