Definisjon:
Akutt eller kronisk inflammasjon av sene eller senefeste i skulderen
Forekomst:
En ganske vanlig forekommende tilstand
Symptomer:
Vanligvis smerte lateralt i overarmen som forverres ved bruk av armen. Aktiviteter i elevasjon og abduksjon er vanligvis symptomfremkallende
Funn:
Positiv isometrisk test der aktuelle muskel, sene og senefeste strammes maksimalt uten bevegelse
Diagnostikk:
Andre undersøkelser er ofte ikke påkrevd, men røntgen, ultralyd eller MR kan være nyttig
Behandling:
Effekten av ulike intervensjoner spriker, men aktuelle tiltak er øvelsesbehandling, ev. kortisoninjeksjoner, ev. sjokkbølgebehandling, ev. manuell terapi
