Definisjon:
Er en intenst kløende dermatose forårsaket av midden Sarcoptes scabiei
Forekomst:
Høy prevalens i u-land. Sannsynligvis økende forekomst i Norge
Symptomer:
Symptomene er plagsom kløe, som oppleves mest intens etter at pasienten har lagt seg under dyna, eventuelt ved høy temperatur og svetting
Funn:
Kliniske funn er ukarakteristiske, kløende papler, av og til små vesikler og etter hvert sekundærforandringer med ekskoriasjoner, mest uttalt på ekstremitetene
Diagnostikk:
Mikroskopi av skabbmidd
Behandling:
Lokalbehandling med permetrin krem, ev. systemisk behandling med ivermektin ved terapisvikt. Miljøtiltak og samtidig behandling av alle aktuelle kontaktpersoner
