Definisjon:
Er et sår distalt for kneet som skyldes venøs sykdom og som ikke tilheler i løpet av seks uker
Forekomst:
Prevalens av venøse leggsår varierer mellom 0,1% og 1,0% i Europa og USA
Symptomer:
Sårdannelse med væsking og kløe, spreng, tyngdefølelse, smerter
Funn:
Venøse sår er ofte lokalisert over benede prominenser, særlig over mediale malleol
Diagnostikk:
Tilleggsundersøkelser kan være blodprøver, dyrkning, ev. bildediagnostikk
Behandling:
Hovedprinsippene er kompresjonsbandasje, heving av leggen, forbedret mobilitet, redusert overvekt, bedret ernæring, hudtransplantasjon og/eller venekirurgi hos utvalgte pasienter
