Definisjon:
Kløende hudsykdom med tørr hud og rødt utslett
Forekomst:
Finnes hos rundt 15-20% av skolebarn og opptil 10% av voksne
Symptomer:
Kløe og utslett på aldersspesifikke predileksjonssteder. Spedbarn: ansikt, strekksider av armer og ben. Barn: bøyesiden av albuer og knær. Ungdom/voksne: ansikt og hals
Funn:
Diffust avgrenset utslett med erytem, ødem, vesikler, infiltrasjon, hudavskalling, erosjoner, ekskoriasjoner og væsking. Ved kronisk eksem hudfortykkelse og lichenifisering
Diagnostikk:
Klinisk diagnose. 
Behandling:
Behandling med fuktighetsbevarende midler er viktig. Ved aktivt eksem i tillegg inflammasjonsdempende topikale kortikosteroider. Ved kronisk og alvorlig eksem topikale kalsinevrinhemmere, lysbehandling, immunmodulerende tablett- eller injeksjonsbehandling
