Definisjon:
En opportunistisk soppinfeksjon med Pneumocystis jiroveci hos pasienter med svekket immunforsvar
Forekomst:
Sjelden, men den hyppigste opportunistiske infeksjonen blant pasienter infisert med hiv
Symptomer:
Vanlige symptomer er gradvis økende tungpust, ikke-produktiv hoste og lavgradig feber
Funn:
Er vanligvis takypné, takykardi og normale funn ved lungeauskultasjon
Diagnostikk:
Tilleggsundersøkelser er mikroskopi av spytt, bronkialskyllevæske, rtg. thorax, ev. CT thorax
Behandling:
