Definisjon:
Eosinofil øsofagitt er en inflammatorisk tilstand i spiserøret karakterisert ved eosinofil infiltrasjon, forårsaket av antigener i matvarer
Forekomst:
Tilstanden rammer typisk barn og unge voksne
Symptomer:
Tilstanden er karakterisert ved intermitterende dysfagi og episoder med fastsittende mat i øsofagus
Funn:
Ingen spesifikke kliniske funn
Diagnostikk:
Diagnosen stadfestes ved endoskopi og histologi med biopsier fra nedre og midtre øsofagus med påvisning av eosinefile infiltrater
Behandling:
Aktuelle tiltak er å identifisere og eliminere underliggende allergener, lokal medikamentell behandling og ev. endoskopisk behandling av strikturer
