Definisjon:
En primær, episodisk eller kronisk hodepine ofte kombinert med ulike nevrologiske, gastrointestinale og autonome forandringer. Migrene er en nevrologisk sykdom
Forekomst:
Ettårsprevalens av migrene er ca. 15%, dobbelt så hyppig hos kvinner som hos menn
Symptomer:
Symptomene er oftest intens hodepine med lys- og lydømfintlighet , medtatt/påvirket allmenntilistand og kvalme/oppkast som varer mellom 4 og 72 timer, med eller uten aura
Funn:
Vanligvis er det ingen kliniske funn
Diagnostikk:
KLM-symptomer (kvalme, lysskyhet og medtatthet) gir høy sannsynlighet for at hodepine er migrene. Diagnosen stilles ved oppfyllelse av ICHD-3 diagnosekriterier. Bildediagnostikk er svært sjelden indisert
Behandling:
Behandlingen er enkle analgetika eller triptaner ved anfall. Forebyggende behandling ved hyppige eller intense plager.
