Definisjon:
Er en vanlig følgetilstand til en mild hjerneskade
Forekomst:
30-80% av pasienter med mild til moderat hjerneskade vil oppleve symptomer på postconcussion syndrom
Symptomer:
Et symptomkompleks som består av hodepine, svimmelhet, nevropsykiatriske symptomer og kognitive forstyrrelser
Funn:
Er som regel fraværende
Diagnostikk:
Behov for ytterligere undersøkelser må vurderes. CT, ev. MR er som regel allerede utført. Nevropsykologisk testing? Psykiatrisk vurdering?
Behandling:
Ingen spesifikk behandling finnes som kan forebygge eller behandle postcommotio syndrom, derfor blir behandlingen symptomatisk
