Urininkontinens hos menn

Definisjon:
Inkontinens hos menn deles i tre varianter (stress-, urge- og blandinginkontinens), hvor urge-inkontinens er den vanligste
Forekomst:
Sjeldent hos unge, forekomst øker med alderen. Alvorlig inkontinens ses hos ca. 2% i gruppen 45-64 år, og dobbelt så mange i gruppen over 65 år
Symptomer:
Plagenes innvirkning på livskvalitet må vurderes. Menn med inkontinens skal henvises til urolog
Funn:
Klinikk omfatter: generell status, inspeksjon av genitalia eksterna, palpasjon/rektaleksplorasjon, nevrologisk undersøkelse og hostetest
Diagnostikk:
Miksjonsliste, urindyrkning og blodprøver bør utføres i allmennpraksis. Måling av residualurin, cystoskopi og urodynamiske undersøkelser er aktuelle undersøkelser på sykehus
Behandling:
Tiltak for å bevare livskvalitet er viktig. Egenbehandling, ev. i kombinasjon med bruk av antikolinergika. Kirurgisk intervensjon kan være aktuelt hos noen
