Steinsykdom i urinveiene

Definisjon:
Konkrementer i de øvre urinveiene kan skyldes en rekke underliggende forstyrrelser. De dannes når løste stoffer i urinen overskrider sin maksimale løselighet
Forekomst:
I Norge får 10– 15% minst ett steinanfall i løpet av livet. Menn har dobbelt så høy risiko som kvinner
Symptomer:
Typiske anfall gir plutselig innsettende, sterke og kolikkpregede flankesmerter lokalisert til en side. Smertene kan stråle mot lysken/skrotum
Funn:
Ev. bankeømhet over nyrelosjene
Diagnostikk:
Urinstix vil kunne påvise hematuri, infeksjon og proteiner. Urinmikroskopi kan avdekke sylindere og/eller krystaller. En rekke bildeundersøkelser kan være av nytte, spiral-CT (stein-CT) eller ultralyd er førstevalg
Behandling:
Akutt smertestillende behandling og rikelig å drikke utenom smerteanfall. Ev. alfablokker for å lette steinavgang, steinknusing eller kirurgi. Videre behandling og utredning basert på årsak til steindannelsen og mulige komplikasjoner
