Postpartum blødning

Definisjon:
Postpartum blødning (> 500 ml) er en potensielt livstruende komplikasjon til både vaginal forløsning og keisersnitt
Forekomst:
Oppstår hos ca. 10% av de fødende. Alvorlig blødning postpartum, definert som blødning over 1000 ml, forekommer hos 1-2%
Symptomer: 
Unormal blødning postpartum
Funn:
Unormalt stor blødning, ev. sjokkutvikling
Diagnostikk:
Hgb, Hct, ev. DIC-status
Behandling:
Intensivbehandling og akutt kirurgi for å stanse blødningen
