Stemmebåndsdysfunksjon

Definisjon:
En unormal lukning av stemmebåndene under respirasjonssyklus - med luftveisobstruksjon særlig under inspirasjon. Skyldes økt muskeltonus i svelget, uten kjent årsak
Forekomst:
Relativt sjelden, hyppigst blant yngre voksne
Symptomer:
Typisk hvesing/stridor, hoste, følelse av tetthet i halsen, heshet eller stemmeforandringer. Tungpusthet med inspiratorisk stridor, ofte utløst av anstrengelse
Funn:
Stridor i larynks. Laryngoskopi kan vise helt eller delvis lukkede stemmebånd
Diagnostikk:
Nedsatt flow ved inspirasjon ved spirometri. Utelukke astma
Behandling:
Avslappingsteknikker, stemmebåndstrening og pusteøvelser, ev. kognitiv terapi
