Halscyster, mediane og laterale

Definisjon:
Laterale og mediane halscyster skyldes utviklingsanomalier
Forekomst:
Tilstandene er ikke helt uvanlige. Median halscyste hyppigst
Symptomer:
Pasienten presenterer seg vanligvis med en symptomfri, cystisk midtlinjemasse i øvre del av halsen, ofte etter en øvre luftveisinfeksjon (median halscyste)
Funn:
Finnes hyppigst i nærheten av os hyoideum, som regel litt kaudalt for dette
Diagnostikk:
Tilleggsundersøkelser kan være ultralyd, CT eller scintigrafi av tyreoidea
Behandling:
Kirurgi med eksisjon av cysten
