Definisjon:
Fraktur av metatars (mellomfotsben)
Forekomst:
Er en av de vanligste frakturene og utgjør 5-6% av alle brudd i primærhelsetjenesten
Symptomer:
Smerte og hevelse over metatarsene. Stressbrudd debuterer gjerne etter langvarig repeterende aktivitet eller etter en brå økning i aktivitet
Funn:
Hevelse og palpasjonsforverret smerte lokalisert til metatarsene
Diagnostikk:
Røntgen
Behandling:
Bruddbehandlingen avhenger av typen brudd. Tilhelte feilstillinger gir ofte betydelige plager og må unngås. Tretthetsbrudd behandles med avlastning i 3-4 uker
