Definisjon:
Sammenfall eller sammentrykning, kompresjon, av corpus i ryggvirvel
Forekomst:
Svært vanlig tilstand. Prevalens øker med alder og er ca. 40% blant kvinner i 80-årsalderen
Symptomer:
Akutte ryggsmerter hos eldre personer
Funn:
Det vanligste kliniske funnet er ømhet ved trykk mot området der det akutte bruddet er
Diagnostikk:
Røntgen, CT eller MR er de mest relevante undersøkelsene om det er behov for bekreftende undersøkelser
