Definisjon:
Traumatisk skade av fremre korsbånd som kan opptre isolert eller kombinert med andre kneskader
Forekomst:
Hyppigst i aldersgruppen 15-45 år. Hyppigere blant kvinner, spesielt unge jenter. 70% av skader oppstår under idrettsaktivitet. Årlig insidens i Norge: ca. 4000
Symptomer:
Akutt skade fører til smerte, hevelse, funksjonstap og følelse av ustabilt kneledd
Funn:
Ved klinisk undersøkelse er det ofte manglende full fleksjon og hyperekstensjon. Hemartros. Stabilitetstester noen dager etter skaden viser ustabilt ledd
Diagnostikk:
Aktuelle tilleggsundersøkelser er røntgen (standard hos barn, indikasjon hos voksne jf. Ottawa kne-kriteriene), ev. MR og/eller artroskopi
Behandling:
Konservativ behandling alene kan være tilstrekkelig, men hos ca. 50% av pasientene gjøres operasjon etter en opptreningsperiode
