Definisjon:
En kronisk granulomatøs tilstand i øyets sclera karakterisert ved destruksjon av kollagen, cellulær infiltrasjon og vaskulitt
Forekomst:
Uvanlig tilstand, ofte assosiert til systemsykdom
Symptomer:
Ensidige eller bilaterale, smertefullt, ev. redusert syn
Funn:
Ømt øyeeple, dyp misfarging av sclera, inflammasjon av overliggende hinner
Diagnostikk:
Ev. utredning av underliggende systemsykdom
Behandling:
Initialt med NSAID, ved dårlig respons gis kortison, ev. immunsuppressiva
