Bronkiolitt

Definisjon:
Viral luftveisinfeksjon i nedre luftveier hos barn i første 1-2 leveår. RS-virus er dominerende agens. Prematuritet, kronisk luftveissykdom, medfødt hjertefeil eller immunsvekkelse disponerer
Forekomst:
Hyppig tilstand. Rammer ca. 10% av spedbarn. Ofte utbrudd som gir små epidemier i vinterhalvåret.
Symptomer:
Hoste, tung pust, takypné, hvesing, ev. feber.
Funn:
Ofte medtatt barn. Inndragninger. Takypné. Inspiratoriske knatrelyder og/eller ekspiratoriske pipelyder og forlenget ekspirium
Diagnostikk:
Diagnosen stilles klinisk. Ev. nasofarynksaspirat til påvisning av agens
Behandling:
Ingen kausal behandling. Oksygen- og væsketilførsel er viktig. Nesedråper til de minste. Innleggelse er ofte aktuelt.
