Urinveisinfeksjon hos barn

Definisjon:
Bakteriell infeksjon. Misdannelser i urinveiene (og obstipasjon) disponerer. Øvre UVI skyldes oftest spredning fra nedre UVI.
Forekomst:
Hyppig årsak til feber hos småbarn. Blant 6-åringer har 7% av jentene og 2% av guttene hatt symptomatisk UVI
Symptomer:
Spedbarn kan debutere med kun feber, oppkast og redusert allmenntilstand (hyppigere øvre UVI). Hos barn over 3 år er pollakisuri og dysuri vanligere.
Funn:
Få funn, eventuelt bankeømhet over nyrelosjer.
Diagnostikk:
Urinundersøkelse (stix, mikroskopi, dyrkning) og adekvat prøvetaking. CRP.
Behandling:
Antibiotikabehandles. De minste barna bør innlegges i sykehus selv om peroral behandling er effektiv.
