Residiverende magesmerter hos barn

Definisjon:
Defineres som intermitterende eller konstante magesmerter av funksjonell eller organisk etiologi, som har forekommet over mer enn to til tre måneder
Forekomst:
10% av barn fra 5-årsalderen og 10-25% av skolebarn rapporteres å ha residiverende magesmerter
Symptomer:
Magesmerter av varierende intensitet og varighet, ev. med ledsagende symptomer
Funn:
Undersøkelsen er normal bortsett fra ev. diffus ømhet i abdomen dersom plagene ikke skyldes underliggende sykdom
Diagnostikk:
Andre undersøkelser for å utelukke relevante differensialdiagnoser
Behandling:
Innebærer en grundig samtale med barn og foreldre om mageplagene. Ta barnet på alvor. Behandle eventuelle underliggende sykdommer
