Definisjon:
Spondylolyse er en virvelbuedefekt uten glidning av ryggvirvelen. Spondylolistese er en fremoverglidning av en virvelcorpus
Forekomst:
Spondylolyse er vanlig, mens høygradig spondylolistese er sjelden
Symptomer:
Tretthets- og stivhetsfølelse i lumbalkolumna omkring vekstspurten. Kronisk ryggsmerte hos voksne. Forverres ved hyperekstensjon
Funn: 
Ved klinisk undersøkelse ev. palpasjonsømhet lumbalt. Smerteprovokasjon ved hyperekstensjon i ryggen
Diagnostikk:
Vanlig røntgen, MR eller CT er aktuelle undersøkelser
Behandling: 
Er i akutt fase avlastning, trening, ev. korsett, ev. kirurgi
