Definisjon:
Vedvarende artritt i ett eller flere ledd i mer enn 6 uker, med debut før fylte 16 år. Etiologi ukjent. Inndeles i fåleddsykdom, flerleddsykdom og systemisk sykdom
Forekomst:
Omtrent 140 barn får barneleddgikt årlig i Norge
Symptomer:
 Leddsmerter, leddstivhet, halting, ev. systemiske/allmennsymptomer
Funn:
Hevelse, varme og smerte i ett eller flere ledd. Ev. uveitt. Eksantem, lymfeknutesvulst, hepatosplenomegali, perikarditt, myokarditt ved systemisk type.
Diagnostikk:
Klinikk supplert med blodprøver. Bildediagnostikk hos spesialist
Behandling:
Tverrfaglig behandling ledet av barnerevmatolog. Fysioterapi, antiinflammatoriske og immunmodulerende medikamenter.
