Definisjon:
Ufrivillig manglende flyt i verbale uttrykk og rytmeforstyrrelse i talen. Økende dokumentasjon på at arv er årsak, miljøfaktorer påvirker alvorlighetsgrad
Forekomst:
Ca 1,4% av alle barn under 10 år
Symptomer:
Kjennetegnes ved brudd i talen, hyppigere enn ved småbarnsstotring og kan være ledsaget av sekundær adferd
Funn:
Normale funn ved klinisk undersøkelse, men obs tegn på nevrologisk sykdom
Diagnostikk:
Logoped kan utføre formalisert testing for å kartlegge alvorlighetsgrad
Behandling:
Svært vekslende kvalitet på dokumentasjon av behandlingseffekt. Høy grad av spontan bedring. Lidcombetilnærming og tekniske hjelpemidler (altered auditory feedback) benyttes
