Postpartum psykose

Definisjon:
Psykoser i postpartum-perioden er oftest affektive og relatert til bipolar sykdom og innebærer økt selvmordsrisiko
Forekomst:
Forekommer med en frekvens på inntil 1:500 - 1:2.000
Symptomer:
Varierer mye, men kan bestå av søvnvansker, angst, forvirring, emosjonell labilitet, nedstemthet og fortvilelse
Funn:
Kan være sterk uro, oppstemthet, realitetsbristende forestillinger og hallusinatoriske opplevelser
Diagnostikk:
Ingen ytterligere tester er av diagnostisk verdi
Behandling:
Er som regel innleggelse og støtte, samtale og beroligende tiltak. Legemiddelbehandling står sentralt
