Personlighetsforstyrrelser (PF)

Definisjon:
Vedvarende måter å tenke, føle og forholde seg på som avviker merkbart fra det typiske for personens kultur. Både medfødte temperamentstrekk og vanskelige psykososiale oppverkstvilkår antas å være sentrale i utviklingen av personlighetsavvik
Forekomst:
Mellom 9-13% i en normalbefolkning oppfyller diagnosekriteriene til en eller flere personlighetsforstyrrelser
Symptomer:
Avvikende personlighetstrekk har vært til stede fra tidlig barndom av, og ledet til betydelige problemer i samspillet med andre. Hver enkelt PF har unike trekk
Funn:
Klinisk undersøkelse er oftest normal. OBS! Personlighetstrekkene kan maskere annen underliggende somatisk eller psykiatrisk patologi
Diagnostikk:
Strukturerte intervju og skåringsverktøy
Behandling:
PF er en utfordrende pasientgruppe å behandle, og en gradvis tilnærming til problematferden er ofte en forutsetning for et godt lege-/pasientforhold. Psykoterapi som pågår over lang tid er ofte nødvendig. Medikamentell behandling har mindre for seg, og er først og fremst et supplement ved komorbide tilstander
